 Team Urban,

Our first full week of school is complete with much success!  This past week, students' mindsets were challenged through benchmark assessments in ELA and Math, along with timed multiplication fact practice and Library. Students will be able to begin checking out books from the Library this Wednesday to bring home to read for homework. Also, be sure to sign and return the AR Contract paper that went home with your child today in the blue homework folder.

Room Mom/Volunteers: 

Our Room Mom for Team Urban is Mrs. Stevenson (Brycen's mom). You will be hearing from her soon about upcoming events. 

If you signed up to volunteer in the classroom, please join us in class from 8:30-9:30 on August 31st.

ELA:
-Begin our first fictional story, Location, Location, Location
-Main Idea, character traits, and sequence of events

-Spelling: VC/CV (pretest Monday)

Math: 
- Begin Topic 1: Understand multiplication and division of whole numbers. We will take a pretest of Topic 1 on Monday. Any student with a score of 90% or higher on this test will complete work in class on a math topic similar to a 4th-grade level. 

Homework:
-Read 20 min each night and sign reading log (record in log each night)
-Math fact practice 1/2 sheet (due every day)

Important Dates:
8/24-1st-trimester electives, Success Academy begins
9/7-No school-Labor Day
