Week of Aug. 19th-23rd

 Team Urban,

Our first full week of school is complete with much success!  This past week students' mindsets were challenged through benchmark assessments in ELA and Math, along with timed multiplication fact practice, leadership, and Library. Library books have been issued from the school library and students have been taking them home to read. We visit the Library every Wednesday morning.

Room Mom/Volunteers: Our Room Mom for Team Urban is Mrs. Prinz (Alyson's mom). You will be hearing from her soon.

If you signed up to volunteer in the classroom, please start to join us this week in class.  Try to give me a heads-up if you can not make it that day.

Math: 
- Begin Topic 1: Understand multiplication and division of whole numbers. We will take a pretest of Topic 1 on Monday. Any student with 90% or higher on this test will complete work in class on a math topic similar to 4th grade. 

Homework:
-Read 20 min each night and sign reading log (record in log each night)
-Math fact practice 1/2 sheet (due every day)

Important Dates:
8/26-1st-trimester electives, Success Academy begins
9/2-No school
