Welcome to the 24-25 school year of 3rd grade!

Welcome to 3rd Grade Team Urban,

I hope you all had a relaxing yet fun-filled summer! It is going to be an awesome year of learning and growing together. I can't wait to fill the year with exciting and new learning experiences for everyone!

I look forward to meeting everyone on Aug. 8th and beginning our 3rd-grade journey together this year!  Good and consistent communication between teacher, parents, and child sets us all up for a successful year. This website is where I will be posting our updates for the class.  It is imperative to check each week on classroom developments and announcements that will be posted at the end of the week.  

You all should have received an envelope in the mail containing a few things. Please send back to school the highlighted papers below:

• About the teacher letter
• About your student form for them to fill out (on the first day)
• Getting to Know You form for parent(s) to fill out and return (on the first day)
• Encouraging a growth mindset at home
• Importance of reading each day

Also, please have your child bring in a picture of themselves. This will be going up on our Future Leaders door in the class. 

The first two days of school will consist of establishing expectations and procedures throughout the day along with our ROAR expectations. If you need to become more familiar with ROAR it is an acronym for our school-wide expectations in class and around the school.

• O - Own your Actions
• A - Act Safely
• R - Rise to Servant Leadership

These terms will be a common language in our classroom along with teaching the students about the 8 Key Strategies we teach students to implement into their daily lives.

Here is the link to the school supplies requested for the class. Again, this is only a suggested list; you do not need to purchase these items through Amazon. Our class always needs Clorox wipes for the desks. It is amazing how dirty they get after a day.

Here are a few start-up dates to remember: 

August 8 - First day of school

August 13 - CSC Back to School 3rd-6th (5:30-6:30)

August 13 - CSC Back to School 7th-8th (6:30-7:30)

August 26 - After School Programs begin
