Week 31 April 16-20

Team Urban,

This month is flying by so fast and before you know it we will be looking at the end of the year!  We have only 8 weeks left! Yikes!
Check out the video below.
Week 30 highlights

California Street Clean-Up-Friday
On Friday, April 20th Third Grade will be rising to servant leadership and cleaning up CA Street. I have attached a digital Permission Slip for you to sign. We require a Permission Slip due to us going outside of the school perimeters. Kiddos will be wearing protective gear, vests and using trash grabbers to clean up CA Street. I am looking for two parents who would like to join us for this clean up. If you're interested, please email me as soon as possible. We will only be outside for a small amount of time, but please send extra water with your kiddo on Friday. Make sure you sign the digital permission slip by Thursday.  IF it is NOT filled out students will go to another classroom in 3rd grade while we are completing our clean up on California street.

Service Projects:
All third grade service projects will be due on Tuesday, May 1st. On Friday, our team sent out all the details regarding the project requirements. Our YAPS penny war fundraiser has started and there is some serious competition out there!  Students are pretty serious about this penny war!

SBACC:
SBACC (state testing) will begin the week of May 7th and continue through May 18th. Please plan all doctor and/or dentist appointments for after the school day and please be on time for school.  I am currently holding morning test prep every Tuesday and Thursday from 7:25am - 7:55am. For those of you who want your kiddos to practice, but cannot get them to tutoring, I put the SBACC practice assessment link to the right.------------------>

During our testing weeks please send your kiddo with extra snacks. Research shows that kiddos who are chewing do better on assessments. Also, be sure your kiddo gets plenty of sleep and a good breakfast. Thank you in advance for your continued support.
