Week 28 March 12-16

Team Urban,

Week 27 Highlights

I look forward to seeing all of you on Wednesday after school for Student-Led conferences. Wednesday, March 14th from 1:30pm - 3:30pm.

Field Trip-Friday March 16th
Third grade will be going on a field trip to the California Theater in San Bernardino on Friday, March 16th. We will be seeing Beauty and the Beast. We are excited for this opportunity to see a Performing Arts show! Please donate to Dollar-A-Day as these funds are what support our field trips. Tickets cost $12.50 per student. Additionally, please have your kiddo wear their blue ILCS shirt, and pack a sack lunch. PLEASE NOTE: I will not be at school on Thursday and Friday as I will be at a conference.  Mrs. Najara will be the sub for both days and Mrs. Crandell and Mrs. Tyree will be chaperoning the field trip as well. Your child should arrive to school at regular time as the bus is leaving at 8:15 and will return around 1:30pm.  If you have any questions, please let me know asap.

Spirit Week: March 12-16
Monday: Dress as an old man or woman
Tuesday: Dress as your favorite holiday
Wednesday: Wacky Wednesday
Thursday: Athlete and Mathlete Day

Service Projects
Please remember that ILCS is a leadership school and service is something we value greatly. Your kiddo is required to complete a service project and 8 hours of service and their projects are due early May. Our grade level service project will be completed after Spring Break and all of our contributions will go to help YAPS. These activities always bring a huge smile to everyone involved!

This Week:
To further drive our instructional needs towards mastery on end of year state testing, the Interim Assessment Blocks (IAB) for ELA and math. Please remember that the IAB's are to drive instruction and will not be recorded on your child's report card however; you will see their scores on the assessment logs we send home. Since IAB's will be given this week, feel free to pack extra snacks. Research shows that when one is chewing more oxygen goes to the brain, improving assessment score.
