The end of the trimester is quickly approaching. As I continue to remind the kiddos that the second trimester will end quickly, many kiddos are still trying to earn those AR points. Please take a moment to checkout your kiddos progress toward reaching their AR goal, and Pearson account to see their progress towards end of the year mastery. We will be celebrating Valentine's Day on the 14th. Besides exchanging Valentines, students will be painting a small canvas. This will happen from 12-1.
Finally, illness is higher during the colder months. If your kiddo misses school, even for one day, please complete the Independent Study paperwork and submit it to the office.
Our focus this week will be:
1. Continue reading Deep Down. We will discuss how photographs, illustrations, and details help readers understand text. We will continue to discover how writers compare and contrast information and ideas.
2. Conventions: subordinating conjunctions and verbs
3. Spelling: /j/, /s/, /k/, /c/, /m/, /p/, /b/, /r/
4. Writing: compare and contrast

Take TOPIC 1-8 Cumulative Test
Begin Topic #11 - Use operations with whole numbers to solve problems.
Continue our Fact Master multiplication tests. It is imperative students study and complete these at home nightly for a few minutes for successful mastery of their multiplication facts.
Homework
Please remind your kiddo to write the date in their Reading Log and turn in their math fact practice.
Due every day: -Reading 20 minutes (put on reading log date and sign)
