Since there is no school tomorrow, if your child is normally scheduled to attend Second Session on Monday, please note they will attend on Friday. Picture day is this Thursday, September 8th and Success Academy begins this week. Success Academy will be every Wednesday and Thursday. Math (room 3) is scheduled for Wednesday and ELA (room 5) will take place on Thursday.
Our focus this week will be:
- Continue reading The Case of the Gasping Garbage and Thunder Cake while focusing on character actions and motivations, sequence of events, citing textual evidence, temporal words, setting, plot and theme.
- Spelling: base words and endings -ed, -ing, -er, -est
- Conventions: irregular plurals, verbs, and irregular verbs
- Writing: Finish final draft of narrative
Math
- Begin Topic 2: Multiplication Facts: 0,1,2,5,9 and 10
- We will also continue our Fact Master multiplication tests. Students have been progressing nicely on their one minute timed test. Remember, it is imperative students study these at home for successful mastery of their multiplication facts.

-Writing (See instructions on Moby Max)
The last 5 of the list are "starred" because they are challenge words. If student get the first 15 correct, then they only have to work on the challenge for the week. If they get all 20 correct on the pretest, they can opt out of the Friday spelling test.
