Week of Sept. 2-6

Team Urban,

We just completed our first Math Topic test and the class scored an average of 84%. They earned some extra recess this afternoon.  I am proud of the growth they have made in multiplication and division.

Homework: Each week your child should be reading for at least 80 minutes (20 minutes each night and record it in their reading log).  The other nightly homework will be math fact practice.

ELA:

  • Finish reading The Case of the Gasping Garbage  (see below for link)
  • Continue discussing how readers understand the characters' motivations and the effects of their actions, as well as how writers write about characters and show the sequence of events in a story.
  • Conventions: functions of a verb and irregular verbs.
  • Spelling words (plural nouns) see below
Math:
Begin Topic 2 Using Multiplication Facts and Patterns
