Hard work and working hard was the theme this week. Students learned how to annotate in NewsELA, which is an online news source for kids. They read an article and highlighted key details or words to show their thinking. They then took a short quiz on the article.
Students also tackled a new property of multiplication; the distributive property. This is a way to break apart a multiplication equation into two multiplication equations to help them solve the problem. Here are a few pictures of them working together with manipulatives on day 1.
Leadership lessons have been focusing on RESPECT. We set a class goal based on data to see if we can improve overall respect in our classroom. Below is our class goal and how we plan to achieve this goal.

-20 min each day of reading (4 entries in reading log)
-Google Classroom
- This week google classroom will have a twist to it. Attached in google classroom students will see an article they need to read. After reading they will click on CREATE and then GOOGLE DOC to type in their response. Their response should be following the RACE to respond guidelines below that we have been working on in class.

-Spelling: V/CV, VC/V
-Writing: expository
MATH:
-Continue Distribution Property
-Associative Property
