Welcome to the 25-26 3rd grade year!

Welcome to 3rd Grade Team Urban,

I hope you all had a relaxing yet fun-filled summer! It is going to be an awesome year of learning and growing together. I look forward to filling the year with exciting and new learning experiences for everyone!

I look forward to meeting everyone on Aug. 7th and beginning our 3rd-grade journey together this year!  Good and consistent communication between teacher, parents, and child sets us all up for a successful year. This website is where you can check for learning targets and updates for the class.  It is imperative to check for classroom developments and announcements that will be posted at the end of each week.

You all should have received an envelope in the mail containing a few things. Please send back to school the highlighted papers below:

  • About the teacher letter
  • About your student form for them to fill out (on the first day)
  • Getting to Know You form for parent(s) to fill out and return (on the first day)
Also, please have your child bring in a picture of themselves. This will be going up in the class for students to have family faces to look at for heartwarming comfort.

The first two days of school will consist of establishing relationships and familiarizing students with expectations and procedures throughout the day, including a quick review of the ROAR expectations. ROAR is an acronym for our school-wide and classroom expectations.

  • R - Respect Self, Others, and Property
  • O - Own your Actions
  • A - Act Safely
  • R - Rise to Servant Leadership
These terms will serve as a common language in our classroom, along with teaching students about the 8 Key Strategies that we encourage them to implement into their daily lives.

Here is the 3rd-grade suggested school supply list.
