Here is some additional information to go along with the progress report that was sent home today titled AUG/SEPT. Assessment Log.
Please sign and return the Assessment Log no later than Friday, October 6th.
The AR progress is as of September 29th. At this point, students should be around 70%-80% of their AR goals.
The scale for standards based grades is as follows:
0-49% = 1
50-69% = 2
70-89% = 3
90-100% = 4.
Math scores on the report card are a combination of several topics. For example, the score for Operations and Algebraic thinking is an average of the scores on topics 1-4.
Science and Social Studies are effort grades that are gleaned from a student's completed work and effort given in class.
Leadership is also an effort grade that is based on how the student follows the concepts of “ROAR” meaning Respecting self, others, and property, Owning our actions, Acting safely, and Rising to servant leadership.
ICA Assessments are beginning of the year benchmarks. They test student skills that are new to a grade level at the beginning of the year. Additionally, the ICA's test the same content and report on the same scale as the summative state tests at the end of 3rd grade. (SBAC)
