November 8th-12th

Team Urban,

This week we had our Apex fun run. Team Urban worked diligently by sending out emails, texts, and phone calls to gather over $76 per lap. It is the highest this class has ever had compared to previous years. This generated fun rewards such as pie in the face, ice cream sandwiches, and a pizza party! Thank you for all your support over these past few days!

Math:
Continue Topic 5 multiplication patterns

Report Cards: As you know, report cards are based on end of the year mastery in each standard.  This year that will remain the same except the report will be changing.  You will not see each individual standard list on the report card.  Instead you will see a number (1-4) next to the topic domain of each standard.  

For example, instead of seeing all of the standards under Reading Literature, and a grade for each standard, you will just see Literature and the current grade based on end of the year standards. Here are the topic domains you will see a score (1-4) on the new report card at parent conferences for the 1st trimester:

ELA

• Literature
• Informational text
• Foundational skills (phonics and fluency)
• Speaking and Listening
• Narrative writing
• Language

Math

• Operations and Algebraic Thinking (understanding of multiplication and division)

Students will be given an effort grade for school and classroom expectations in each category of ROAR.

11.22-26- Thanksgiving Break- No School
