Happy Sunday! Last week Team Urban won Lucy the Lion for the 5th time this year and second week in a row! Many classes ask why do we keep winning? Answer: Teamwork! It is that simple; we work together as one to achieve our goal.
February 28th is the last day of the second trimester, and it will be the last day to AR. Since second trimester conferences are optional, for many, we will be hosting Student-Led conferences during the week of March 12th - 16th. Students will be self-reflecting upon their growth over the last two trimesters, and I know it would mean a lot to them for you to set aside a small amount of time that week to come in and watch them present their conference to you. More details on the specific date and time coming soon.
Just a friendly reminder that ILCS is a leadership school and service is something we value greatly. Your kiddo is required to complete a service project and 8 hours of service this year. The project and presentation will be due in May.
Our grade level service project started out as support for Houston families earlier in the school year. As that need has been reevaluated, after Spring Break we will be completing the grade level service project with specific effort towards our local animal shelter, YAPS. These activities always bring a huge smile to everyone involved! More information to come. Enjoy this short video of their celebration. I think this chant was stuck in my head all day!
