Week of January

Happy 2017! This past week our class started to evaluate our learning as a whole class and this week they will set individual goals for achievement in the area of math, AR and end of the year benchmarks. They have also started to learn the basic strokes of cursive through the Cursive Without Tears program.

Our focus this week will be:
  1. Continue reading The Year of Miss Agnes. We will discuss how readers use evidence from texts to understand what they read, and identify main idea and supporting details. We will continue to discover how writers include character dialogue and actions to affect the events in a story.
  2. Conventions: adverbs, functions of adverbs, and superlative adverbs.
  3. Spelling: consonant blends
  4. Writing: narrative
